Hectic and Dilemma! These are the 2 words i can say for the first week of school.Once again the school semester has begun and class schedules are complicating and messed up as usual.A whole load of new students at school mostly from Indo! Why i chose those 2 words to describe the week?Well lets see-Hectic: The classes seem to be right after one another especially on monday and thursday!Unlike summer which i can say was super damn slack, fall tends to be more..realistic of college life hah!Other than that, i have been re-nominated and re-elected as President of the Student Government for the 2nd time running. So imagine the surprise when i go to school and all the staff was like "Hey the president is back" and"President! How could you not attend the orientation" Uhh for the orientation i was still back at Indo so i had a good excuse for that :pNow to the next word: Dilemma, i currently take 8 subjects and well if you are in college and take that much, youre crazy! Here;s the thing though, i take 8 subjects which i chose to fulfill my Gen Eds. At first, Chemistry was just a stupid choice but a miracle happened.I had a 95% chance of dropping the class and lab and 5% of changing my mind if something happens. The 5% won!The prof was so interesting that this is the first time that i gained interest in the subject called Chemistry. So for people who think that numbers prove to be the best way to find an asnwer-THINK AGAIN!At least the week, other than continous reading and piling assignments had a bright end to it. My bro came to Singapore and spent some spare time with him(Dont blame me,i had classes from morning till night for 2 days!) and had a barbeque party at Kann's place for his birthday.Met up with a couple of old friends and i totally forgot that yesterday was the teachers day celebration.Imagine how dumbfonuded i was when i reached st pats and they were like celebrating..i went there only for my testimonial hah!Well another day to spend with the anniversary dinner coming up tonight.Pardon my messy paragraphing and grammar..im writing whatever comes to my head now!Signing off :p~Mike

Back from the US and damn!i have to say its a whole different world up there..people are nicer somehow.Seems i had the wrong perspective of Americans all along.Well here is a super short summary(cause if i drag on i bet you guys will sleep) of my summer trip :p
Day 1:6/8/08
Flight at 9pm indo time and reaching singapore at 10+ where i surprisingly gave some peeps a call.To those people i did not give to,my bad i had a constraint transit time.Flight to Frankfurt was at midnight.
Day 2:6/8/8(USA)-7/8/8 : 7/8/8-8/8/8(SEA)
Reached Frankfurt like 6 am in the morning where nothing is open and i had another 1 hour of transit. The flight was a pain,12 hours but THANK GOD!there was no one sitting next to me,my brilliant tactic of booking 1 seat in the window and another in the aisle proved too good haha.Sat with my bro the whole way through. Another 10 hours till i reached JFK where my dad's luggage went missing. Yeap he only got it back like 3 days later. Arrived there in the morning again, had my cousin pick us up and we drove to new jersey.Since we had nothing much to do for the day we went to shop for my dad cause he aint got nothing to wear for the week!HAHA!
Day 3:8/8/8(Im just gonna use the USA date to not confuse you and myself)
The day of the olympics and the bloody american channels dont show it live. Went shopping again in the morning in the same mall.Mom cant seem to stop spending!I finally met my oldest sis after 4 years.Had lunch before heading for the wedding.I should say that it was the simplest Catholic wedding ever and i dont mind having mine like that haha. The dinner party on the other hand...WOW!Everyone so did not know that there was a cocktail party before hand,so people just eat and eat and realize their mistake!HAHAHA shouldve seen the shock on my parents face and they said"WHAT?!this is only a cocktail party!?"Shouldve taken a pic of them,it was priceless. The dinner on the other hand, only consisted of 5 dishes-soup,salad,main course, desert and wedding cake. But trust me,its filling to just have them. The place had a dance floor too and its surprising that so many people can actually dance! My sis got the best dancer award but hmm i wouldve won it if i participated hehe. There was the best kisser award and etc. really steamy but oh well. Oh yea in case you were wondering, my cousin married a Ukrainian, cool guy.
Day 4: 9/8/8
Went for NYC city tour at Manhattan.Visited broadway : a really busy place, tourists hassling all around. Madamme Thussaudes: The place where the tour tix are sold and gosh the queue was long. Madisson Square: the place where the NY teams play ball. WTC: yeap its an empty piece of land. Empire state building: No wonder king kong chose that building, its tall! Statue of Liberty: Freaking hell, the queue was like 2 hours long, the ferry ride another 20 mins and we only spent half and hour there cause of time constraint... Wall street: a small place where the worlds economy depends on. And lots more places i forgot to mention but i do have pictures which i will load up on facebook. Tried the hotdogs, pretzels, churos and kebabs, and DAMN!THEYRE GOOD!Now i believe Cheryl when she said that churos are nice haha!
Day 5 :10/8/8
Sent my oldest sis to the airport before going back to manhattan. Visited NYU,one of the universities which are surrounded by shops but too bad we went on sunday, the place was so dead quiet. Went to Macy's:the biggest departmental store in the east to shop again. Before going to Victoria's secret. As embarassing as it can get, my dad couldnt stop touching the lingeries. And dont think that he's a pervert cause he's not,but the only reason why he did so: our company makes the materials. My brother and I was like NOOOO, and dad forced us to check it out...not like we dont want to or anything but come on, a store filled with women and see guys touching and checking out lingeries?Isnt that awkward. Went to the airport after that where the freaking flight got delayed big time.
Expected departure:5.25 pm
Actual:6.45(on the board), 8.45(departed)
Expected arrival:7pm
Actual:10.30pm
Anastacia,my second sis's college roommate picked us up and it sure is good to see her again.
Day 6: 11/8/8
College Roadtrip! Checked out with my prospective university and colleges. First stop was Bentley College, the counsellor was the friendliest and hottest one i have ever met.Gave me full details on everything i asked. Babson college was the next stop. The land area they had was huge to accomodate 2000 students. Their program is a bit confusing cause they arent a liberal arts college so the gen ed requirements are all different but hey its my 2nd choice on the list. Next stop was Boston College. Top on the list but the lowest chance to get in. Unlike the other 2 school i visited before, the admission office in BC was PACKED!all Freshmans though haha,i love transferring as a sophomore student but be the same or younger than them in age :p. Well the counsellor was amazingly really direct. Unlike the other 2 which has 35% average admission rate, BC only has 11%.And quoted from her" if you wanna get into the business school here its even worse, out of the 500 applicants we have, we can only accept 5." HOLY DANG 5!! My jaw dropped, and if i dont have joints and the bones, my jaw wouldve probably dropped to the floor. Use a calculator if your maths is as bad as mine and put 5 divided by 500 and that equals to 1%!Hell, at least i bought some souvenirs from there hah! Had a super late lunch in an italian resto and gosh, it tastes umm cheesy? Since Anastacia had to go off early, and my mom nagging of the need to shop,my brother and i toured boston ourselves. Took the subway to Harvard and MIT though we did not go to the admissions office and we couldnt buy and T shirts cause they were closed!!
Day 7: 12/8/8-13/8/8(USA) : 13/8/8-14/8/8(SEA)
Had time to visit Boston University in the morning and damn their admission office was packed too!Seriously the counsellor there was hilarious though.."competition between applicants here are tough with an average GPA of 3.6" "So whats the admission rate like?" "oh around 40-45%" LOL! yea thats like practically half of the applicants. After that short stint, rushed to the airport for our flight back home. Thank goodness this time the plane didnt get delayed or we would probably miss all of our subsequent flights!Another hour back to JFK and 4 hours transit and another 10 hours to frankfurt. Somehow seats in Singapore Airlines are getting smaller or something cause my knees keep on getting hurt there. Manage to see the change in the sky from, half dark and half bright. Its like passing through a time travelling thing and i have to say the horizon between is beautiful. Manage to see it twice cause when i arrived in Singapore is was morning again. Rushed through terminals and finally arrived back here in Indonesia.
Had a good night sleep yesterday night to avoid jet lag and i sure slept well :p!Im going to be back next week!WOHOO cant wait till school starts again.
