Once there was a time, according to legend, when Ireland was ruled by a king who had no son. The king sent out his couriers to post notices in all the towns of his realm. The notices advised that every qualified young man should apply for an interview with the king as a possible successor to the throne. However, all such candidates must have these two qualifications: They must (1) love God and (2) love their fellow human beings. The Young man about whom this legend centers saw a notice and reflected that he loved God and, also, his neighbors. One thing stopped him, he was so poor that he had no clothes that would be presentable in the sight of the king. Nor did he have the funds to buy provisions for the long journey to the castle. So the young man begged here, and borrowed there, finally managing to scrounge enough money for the appropriate clothes and the necessary supplies. Properly attired and well-suited, the young man set out on his quest, and had almost completed the journey when he came upon a poor beggar by the side of the road. The beggar sat trembling, clad only in tattered rags. His extended arms pleaded for help. His weak voice croaked, "I'm hungry and cold. Please help me... please?" The young man was so moved by this beggar's need that he immediately stripped off his new clothes and put on the tattered threads of the beggar. Without a second thought he gave the beggar all his provision as well. Then, somewhat hesitantly, he continued his journey to the castle dressed in the rags of the beggar, lacking provisions for his return trek home. Upon his arrival at the castle, a king's attendant showed him in to the great hall. After a brief respite to clean off the journey's grime, he was finally admitted to the throne room of the king. The young man bowed low before his majesty. When he raised his eyes, he gaped in astonishment. "You... it's you! You're the beggar by the side of the road." "Yes," the king replied with a twinkle, "I was that beggar." "But...bu...bu... you are not really a beggar. You are the king for real. Well, then, why did you do this to me?" the young man stammered after gaining more of his composure."Because I had to find out if you genuinely love God and your fellow human beings," said the king. "I knew that if I came to you as king, you would have been impressed by my gem-encrusted golden crown and my royal robes. You would have done anything I asked of you because of my regal character. But that way I would never have known what is truly in your heart. So I used a ruse. I came to you as a beggar with no claims on you except for the love in your hear. And I discovered that you sincerely do love God and your fellow human beings. You will be my successor," promised the king. "You will inherit my kingdom."The Beggar King

Once upon a time there was a little boy who was raised in a orphanage.
The little boy had always wished that he could fly like a bird. It was very difficult for him to understand why he could not fly. There were birds at the zoo that were much bigger than he, and they could fly.
"Why can't I?" he thought. "Is there something wrong with me?" he wondered.
There was another little boy who was crippled. He had always wished that he could walk and run like other little boys and girls.
"Why can't I be like them?" he thought.
One day the little orphan boy who had wanted to fly like a bird ran away from the orphanage. He came upon a park where he saw the little boy who could not walk or run playing in the sandbox.
He ran over to the little boy and asked him if he had ever wanted to fly like a bird.
"No," said the little boy who could not walk or run. "But I have wondered what it would be like to walk and run like other boys and girls."
"That is very sad." said the little boy who wanted to fly. "Do you think we could be friends?" he said to the little boy in the sandbox.
"Sure." said the little boy.
The two little boys played for hours. They made sand castles and made really funny sounds with their mouths. Sounds which made them laugh real hard. Then the little boy's father came with a wheelchair to pick up his son. The little boy who had always wanted to fly ran over to the boy's father and whispered something into his ear.
"That would be OK," said the man.
The little boy who had always wanted to fly like a bird ran over to his new friend and said, "You are my only friend and I wish that there was something that I could do to make you walk and run like other little boys and girls. But I can't. But there is something that I can do for you."
The little orphan boy turned around and told his new friend to slide up onto his back. He then began to run across the grass. Faster and faster he ran, carrying the little crippled boy on his back. Faster and harder he ran across the park. Harder and harder he made his legs travel. Soon the wind just whistled across the two little boys' faces.
The little boy's father began to cry as he watched his beautiful little crippled son flapping his arms up and down in the wind, all the while yelling at the top of his voice,
"I'M FLYING, DADDY. I'M FLYING!"

Once upon a time there were a bunch of tiny frogs.... who arranged a running competition.
The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.
A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants....
The race began.....
Honestly: No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower.
You heard statements such as: "Oh, WAY too difficult!!"
"They will NEVER make it to the top."
or: "Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"
The tiny frogs began collapsing.
One by one....
Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher....
The crowd continued to yell, "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"
More tiny frogs got tired and gave up....
But ONE continued higher and higher and higher....
This one wouldn't give up! At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower.
Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!
THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?
A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal? It turned out.... That the winner was DEAF!!!!
The wisdom of this story is: Never listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic....
because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you --
the ones you have in your heart!
Always think of the power words have.
Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!
Therefore: ALWAYS be....POSITIVE!
And above all: Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfill your dreams!

Ive recently thought about some stuff and thanks to the intro speech we needed to do for public speaking,i came to the topic, what makes a person? What really makes a person? Is it:His looksHis smileHis brainsHis brawnsHis wealthHis personalityHis attitudeHis cool personaHis kindnessHis romantic touchHis emotional quotientWell personallyI am not handsomeMy smile is mostly brokenMy brains is that of an average type of guyI have more fats than muscles in my bodyI am not rich and can make ends meetI consider myself more of a shy guy than an outgoing oneI am narcisistic at times, some might say egoistic, but really im just plainIm not cool, neither hot,im just meI am kind, maybe?I let you decide on that oneI am not romantic at all,in fact i dont know what the real definition of romance isI have never taken the test before, but i THINK it should be highWhat one cannot describe by himself,he needs other people to do so. It is only normal to talk highly of one self, but wouldnt it be better for people to actually tell us about ourselves. Only we know ourselves best, but then again, how well do we know. Do not judge a book by its cover, yet we often judge first impressions really highly.Arent we being biased on how we look at people or even ourselves? What then can our definition of ourself be...~Mike

Hey everyone, once again i have taken almost forever befor updating my blog but i have perfectly good reasons for that.Summer classes have officialy begun this week and i have to say that i have no regrets taking the subjects im taking, even Eng compo 1.I have to say that nothing is seriously better than going back to school and studying again. The holidays has been killing me!!Brain cells slowly liquidating away from me and coming out from my saliva due to the drool of boredom.I cant believe i cant apply for scholarship(even though my GPA is close to perfect)!Damn dean sure has a grudge against me bad!!Business in school has been quite a hassle, never knew the demand for 2nd hand books was high.Guess being the owner of a company can be quite taxing specially when we're studying as well.Well Edmund,Jason,Khoony and Chris came to my place to hang and stay ove cause the NP camp that we were suppose to help and attend was so damn messed up that we werent allowed to stay....Really really poor administration by the current NCO's seriously. They seem to have forgotten to have the basics of PICARD and thats not cool at all. So the past few days have been quite of a party at my place as usual. As Jason said it in his blog,my place always seem to end up as a chill crib during the holidays but i dont mind, nothing can be more fun than hanging about with your old pals, specially your brothers.Well sad thats over...Went to the dentist and bad news comes, the cost to take out both my wisdom tooth is a BOMB!Plus the risks are so high...Now we know the most painful and worrying thing in our human body is the teeth!I cant think of anything else to write so...SIGNING OUT!:P~Mike"Euro 2008 is coming!!!Bet for your favorite team!"
