I got bored at work so im putting pics of my dogs...
One thing i have to say about the past week...it was....FANTASTIC!!!APLYC 8 was really a blast and an experience i will never forget.I have so much to say yet if i list everything down its gonna be really long so..lets try to summarize it a bit.
Was the Liesion Officer for Indonesian Delegates cause practically i was the only Indon in the OT and the only one who can actually speak Bahasa.This was probably the first time i spoke so much bahasa in school cause if you guys know me well,i never use that language.Ok my partner in crime is Joe and damn he's funny.We picked em up in the airport and i purposely didn't use Indo to not let em know im Indon but oh well i used it anyways.Drove with Charles and the old run down van as their mode of transport back to school.Did registration,tour and dinner before i had to go back home to prepare my clothes for mr Tan's wedding.
My alarm couldn't be more irritating,since Joe stayed in school he called me and was like,"SHIT MIKE!!THE INDONS ARE MISSING!"Gave me a shock of my life i tell you but then again i found out that they just left for a walk in the morning and wished Joe luck cause i'll only be back in like mid afternoon.Never did i know that it was the marathon day so taking a cab to the hotel was a really bad choice.Got stuck in traffic and so i had to walk along city hall just to get to the hotel!Oh well anyways the meal and the wedding was quite funny cause Mr Ng,really cant do a wedding Emcee and i seriously pity mr Tan.So Congratulations to you Mr Tan and Ms Chen or Mrs Tan!Hehe met a few old teachers there as well,Ms mag tan who i must really say look much prettier than before and the rest who look exactly like they are in school!K had to rush back to school for Aplyc and hitched a ride in Mr Goh's car.Went back just in time for mass and can see that a wide variety of people were already there.After mass was dinner followed by ice breakers and stuff.
2nd day which was supposedly dragon boating day,the OT's had to leave early to SJI PAC to rehearse for the heritage play.Really chaotic but i guess the play turned out great though there were a bit of miscues here and there.Another personal achievement of mine is i only had the chance to rehearse once cause i didn't go for the retreat.Well i must say i can audition for Hollywood alright,haha just kidding lol.Lajuli was the funniest scene with Ben throwing his specks down and all the drama and action :p,saw Cheryl in the spectator stands and whoa that made me nervous specially when my scene was that of a drunkard teacher and i was supposed to act really dirty and disgusting which i hopefully did cause i ate something out of my shoe!!
The next day was Heritage Trail and i pity Ian cause he was dressed up as Father Buriel and was supposed to walk around in the Cathedral.Yeap,he was bombarded by people asking for confession and giving donations!Edmund was another center of attraction with the Aussies thanks to his cute face?maybe haha.Well instead of joining the trail,me and david decided to take a tour of our own and guess what!We saw this painting called "Potrait of Yeo Lan" and you can never believe that IT IS REALLY HER!Mrs mole from st pats!!Ironic that shes famous in the art museum and yet a joke in st pats!Oh well took lots of pics with Colins cam though i have to apologize if some of the pics arent that spectacular cause im a scenic photographer and not a group one.That night was also the cultural night plus bbq.All the different cultures showing off their cultural items and dances.And whats best,i actually met a SHE MAN!Not the comic but a real life person!Ok,i finally saw the kiwi's Hakka Dance and damn its cool.Most of the performances was stunning but Singapore's was just to plain and simple.Oh yea since the bbq had extra 100 chickens to spare,Allister and I brought like the whole tray to the canteen and courtyard to eat lol.I think both of us ate like total of 30 pieces.You should hear his stories about the canoeist,much worse than the 2 of us!
Journey was up next on the 4th day,where i was the IC for the entertainment group.I find this quite interesting cause if you ask anyone who knows me..im not much of an entertainer though lame jokes and such do come out once in a while :p.When we reached TPCC,gosh the vice chair of it have to give us a history lecture which was so damn boring!Thank goodness it wasnt that long.Went to an old folks gathering place and instead of we entertaining them,they entertained us with Er Hu and Karaoke.K after that,some of the delegates went up to visit the other old folks in their homes while some were left behind.I dont know what happened but in the end i was all alone in the gathering place talking with the old folks.Well the auntie i was talking with was very funny saying how life is great,even in the darkest times.I have to agree with her.And i had to speak chinese to them cause none of the old people could speak english,so i hope they could understand what i was saying!It was pouring on the way back and well got wet.The Aircon inside the CC made us freeze i tell you.Well it was only then that i found a sparring partner!Andolin,a delegate of mine,gosh she sure is tough!K i shall talk about the sparring later on cause we had creative workshop when we went back.Prepared the rooms and took a glimpse of the instructors and wow the dance instructors are quite hot.No wonder so many people signed up for it!I do have to admit that I went for it for only 15 mins before going to the cove and have a higher level of meditation or also known as sleep.According to GuanWen,I almost sucked my thumb when I was sleeping!Well after dinner and Solidarity Lasalliana again and where most delegates are supposed to be sleeping, I took the opportunity to spar with Ando. From a crowd of 3 it suddenly became like a crowd of 20.Pretty embarrassing cause I wasn’t as flexible as before and I kinda hesitated a bit. I mean cmon,she’s a girl!Had 3 rounds of 5 mins. Sweat like no ones business after each round. And all I know after the sparring session, I was really in pain. I only found out when I was about to take a shower..a huge lump on my right leg,probably due to the kicks.Even though we finished sparring, the spectators got so hyped up that they’re teaching other how to fight and stuff, weird but I guess im fine with it.
Woke up the next day feeling exhausted, for 5 days in a row, the OT’s have only 4 hours of adequate sleep.A contrast to the delegates cause they have beds,pillows and blankets while we only have the cold hard floor! They had this small skit in the morning about being separated by society or something like that. Didn’t really pay much attention cause after that,went to the bunk and knocked out. Had country sharing after lunch and the delegates discussed their situation and hopes for their country. I cant remember what happened after that, I think it should be mega summary but was called up for final reflection. The delegates were asked to fill up hopes after Aplyc in so called banner and joined up to be Signum Fidei which was pretty cool. And I don’t know what happened but the final reflection session turned to like an affirmation one where everyone started hugging and singing songs and going crazy inside the heritage hall.Yeap it was fun alright.
The final day of activities, though we were suppose to go shopping, the OT’s ended up doing sai kang work.Well since we are all experienced Sai Kang warriors, the work intended to end at 3 ended at 11.30 hah! What we had to do was to change the hall into a ballroom kinda setting for the farewell dinner that night.And the lump which I received 2 days back finally became a bruise like super red one! Had lunch at Kallang KFC where Ben sang the lajuli in the playground!Can check the video in youtube and its really hilarious.Went back to take our deserved nap,woke up took a shower and got ready for the big party!Im telling you that night,everyone just had the weirdest fashion sense, the people from my bunk mostly wore long sleeve with a tie but with shorts and sandals. The Hongky actually wore st pats pe shirt with a tie!The dinner was quite nice,buffet food with delicious variety!We sang lasallian songs and the theme song and well we thought it was over cause it was pretty late until!The DJ announced the party had just begun and damn it did.All the crazy songs started playing and all of us,delegates and OT got like crazy and really showed off their dancing skills.Unfortunately I cant really dance so I just stood one side and watched…NOT!!It was crazy really,I actually had the chance to show off a bit of my moves though I think people find it weird?People who read this and were there please comment,all I know is Kenneth was following my dance moves!Ok even danced like the tango with Ando and ballroom dancing with Amelia or She Man!Though I have to say she did dance quite well and I was like the one following the steps :p.The day ended with everyone in high spirits.But we still had to do sai kang work after that.
Last day was really sad,people saying good bye and probably not get the chance to meet them again and stuff like that.Went back halfway through the debrief cause I hitched a ride from my Godbro,Chris to go home,wash my clothes and pack my stuff for the next day. Watched Golden compass that night though I should have went back to school cause they were showing the heritage play video.Slept at midnight…
Woke up at noon!Cant believe I missed both masses in the morning..oh well and I got the shock of my life cause I only had 3 hours left before I leave to the airport.Well packed my stuff and left…early..the sky was dark and I thought it would rain.Ms P told me of a poem writing competition,theme is spice of life and I think I’m gonna participate in it.The flight was nice cause it was Exec Economy instead of the normal one so it was pretty spacious.Arrived and went straight to Aunt’s bday. Met my cousins from the states after a year and well Sung’s motto is EAT!
Yesterday, dad’s bday.But still had to go to the factory in the morning to work.It was supposed to be a surprise party for dad and did he really get surprised!Haha should see the shock on his face when we reached Tony Romas.What was funny though was mom asked our driver to go home,so did sis asked hers to go home as well.So we were like stuck and had to wait for mom and dad to pick us up!Food was great,ambience as well and we all had fun.Got dad and E51 though im not too sure he likes it or not.Got my Ipod from sis for my present as well.
Hehe I think this is getting really long cause according to Micro Word,its already 4 pages long with a font of 12 and its close to 2 thousand words!I shall end this off with APLYC WAS A BLAST!I really wanna thank everyone, and my delegates for being so damn nice to me!I wish we could all one day meet up again :p,will miss you all.Oh yea another notable thing I forgot to mention is I finally received a TOEFL score of 620/677!Whee which means I can go to any Uni I want!Just have to do well for my SATs now..signing off!!
